Fees for 2010/11
Half SessionsHalf sessions for After School club finish 4.45pm. Half Sessions for Holiday Club can be mornings until 12.00pm or Afternoons from 12.00pm Payment of Fees Payments can currently be made through our website by debit or Credit Card. Cash or cheque payments can be made at WASPS. Payments can also be made direct to our bank using online banking and/or standing order. We ask parents to keep track of the sessions they use and pay fees accordingly. We appreciate fee payments in advance. Statements showing the balance due will be emailed to parents at the start of every term and half term. If fees cannot be paid in full for the whole half term, payments must be made for each month by the end of every month. Families who fail to pay their fees by the end of each month will be contacted by the Treasurer and advised to set up a standing order to ensure future payments are received on time. The accumulation of debts of over £100 per family, without prior agreement from the Treasurer, may result in a family being excluded from WASPS. We are sorry we have to do this, but we cannot jeopardise the service for everyone by not recovering monies due. Chasing fees is also an unwelcome burden on our committee who are all volunteers. If there are genuine difficulties with paying your WASPS fees please let us know as soon as possible so we can agree a plan with you. Information regarding parent's personal circumstances will be treated in the strictest of confidence. Up to date Fee statements can now be emailed or printed for parents by the WASPS staff at any time. Parents can also log onto our online system to view the status of their account as well as checking their bookings. There is also a facility to update family details such as emergency contacts etc on our online system too. Help with the Cost of Childcare There are 2 ways you can receive help with your childcare costs. Most families should be able to take advantage of one or other scheme. Examples of people who would not qualify for either scheme are those where working parents are self-employed with a family income of over £58,000 a year. Child Tax Credits or Working Family Tax Credits are usually available where the family income is below £58,000 a year. Try the HMRC Tax Credit Questionaire to see if you qualify for up to £300 a week help with your childcare costs. Do remember when claiming tax credits you need to keep the tax office informed of changes in your family circumstances or childcare costs. If you do not qualify for tax credits, joining a government approved Childcare Voucher Scheme could be an option for you. Check with your employer to see if they operate a scheme. Schemes are free for employers to join and involve fairly minimal administration so most employers should be prepared to join one, if they do not belong to one already. WASPS currently receive money from Busybees, Accor, Childcare Plus and Sudexho but there are many more your employer could join. Childcare Voucher Schemes are also known as 'Salary Sacrifice Schemes'. You tell your employer how much money you would like to pay for your childcare fees (for WASPS and any other childcare providers used by your family) up to a maximum of £243 a month. Your employer will pay WASPS the agreed amount via the approved scheme and deduct the amount from your salary. This means your payments to WASPS are free from tax and National Insurance contributions so if you are a higher rate tax payer you will be making a saving of over 40% on your fees paid through the approved scheme. You can agree a fixed amount with your employer every month and you can stop it or change it any time. Don't worry if your payments are not exactly right every month, WASPS will carry balances forward for you. More information for you and your employer can be found on the HRMC website. If you qualify for both schemes it can be quite complicated working out whether you are best taking the money as a tax credit or using childcare vouchers. The HMRC Guidance on this should help you decide. If you need further advice, please ask. We will do our best to help. How we spend your money At WASPS we try and keep the costs of your childcare to an absolute minimum. We are a registered charity with a voluntary committee who do a substantial amount of work behind the scenes, keeping our administration costs to an absolute minimum and organising fundraising events with staff. We share the Playhouse with the Community Playgroup so our building is very well utilised and running costs such as heating, lighting, rent and maintenance are shared with the Playgroup to reduce costs further. WASPS will always welcome donations of equipment or toys and any other help parents and friends of WASPS can offer. WASPS is not subsidised by the school or any other organisation. WASPS is always looking for new members to join our friendly committee. We meet twice a term and we try and keep our meetings light-hearted and fun. Please help the Committee in whatever way you can. We can only run WASPS if we have parents who are prepared to volunteer to join the Committee. Fees will also go up if we do not fundraise. |
